Unity Mural Corner of Market and 4th Street
I collaborated with the Unity Project in Portsmouth to create this mural that celebrates the town’s history and showcases it’s diversity. This mural features many hometown heroes and focuses largely on Stuff Smith, a Portsmouth legend known for his innovative fiddle playing. The mural also acts as a photo opportunity for groups visiting our town. We welded real instruments to the wall that passersby can pose with, adding an interactive and engaging aspect to the final piece. I feel the final product is a powerful representation of the community, that pays homage to the local legends who have made our community what it is today.
Boyd Public Library
I was thrilled to create this mural for the Boyd County Public Library. The mural, depicts a landscape with a house and a large grassy field, and features rolling clouds that draw inspiration from Vincent van Gogh’s “Starry Night.” It was a great opportunity for me to bring a touch of fantasy and imagination to this space. I hope that this mural will be enjoyed by all who see it.
Corner Stone
I created this colorful mural depicting my hometown for a new youth center. The commission specifically requested that the painting feature the iconic Grant bridge as the centerpiece, which I incorporated into the overall design. The final piece is a vibrant representation of the community and serves as a source of pride and inspiration for the young people who will use this space.
